Herr Bohnen und die Tür...

A little entry about Jack aka Sir Beans (Herr Bohnen) and his fascination with doors. He has something against closed doors, really not a happy camper when he has to face one... But his real issue is cabinets, if the cabinet door is shut, he needs it open, he needs to be inside, and on occasion everything has to be pulled out first. Exhibit A:

BUSTED!

All the sponges, towels, and cleaning products had to be pulled out. And let me tell you, he worked on this door for a few days... Still not sure what he thought he was going to find in there, but I am sure it was a huge let down lol

After his closet antics, Ryan got creative and put little locks on the doors... Some work well, and some not so well! Exhibit B: Every time I reach into the bathroom cabinet I pull out a cat! Now on to Exhibit C: Apparently the locks on the hallway closet are not cat proof, Ryan just sent this over...

BUSTED AGAIN!

I think he's a lot more creative than we think he is! On the plus side he didn't tear every thing out of the closet before climbing in... Again, be thankful for the little things! :)

30!? Ok, it wasn't as bad as I thought!

So it's been a while since the last time I blogged... I am trying to be better about updating! I am happy to report that living in the bubble is still working for me, although now that I have banned pop culture related news I have become obsessed with the LA Times Homicide Blog! What better way to get to know your new area than checking out where people are being murdered!? Ryan thinks it's making me neurotic... But it's good info to have! So far I have learned that if you are a white woman between the ages of 25 and 38 you are more likely to be abducted and tortured... The odds increase if you are any of the above and pregnant... *Blank Stare* Ok, maybe Ryan is right, it may be making me a little neurotic lol

On to more light hearted topics... I just turned 30 on the 7th, I thought for sure I would want to spend the day wallowing in bed with a bottle of scotch, but that's not exactly how things turned out! The night before "Black Wednesday" (That's what I was calling my birthday at the time!), Ryan took me to dinner and surprised me with... Wait for it... An annual pass to Disneyland! And not just any annual pass, the premium park hopper pass, I even get free parking! I really did luck out with him, because his thought was, you can't possibly be depressed about turning 30 if you're in the "Happiest Place on Earth!" And he was right, as I stood among the masses I did find it very hard to dwell on the fact that my 20's were officially over, and I ended up having more fun than I could handle! Did you know that if it's your birthday, and you're in Disneyland they pin a giant button to you that says "Happy Birthday" and it has your name on it... Literally, every cast member in the park stops and says happy birthday to you, and if you want that seat behind the steering wheel on Indiana Jones you get it! Hell, I even got a free bag of fresh tortillas at the Mission Tortilla Factory! I highly recommend that everyone should spend at least one birthday there! One downside, neither of us paid any attention to the fact that it was spring break... I am very serious when I say there were apocalyptic sized crowds of wailing children running around! But hey, when you live 40 minutes from the front gates of this expensive kingdom it's not really something you think about! Bottom line, it ended up being one of the best birthdays I have celebrated yet! And it didn't end there! The following day we went to Mike and Priscila's, where Priscila made me the most amazing home cooked birthday dinner, and topped it off with the most fattening cookie pie I have ever laid eyes on, I literally fell into a sugar induced coma 5 minutes after eating half a slice! Friday, I got to have a date night with my baby, sushi at Midori, frozen yogurt at the Groovy Spoon, and then home to kick back and watch Spartacus! Yeah, we're dorks like that! ;) Saturday we decided to venture down to Palm Desert to visit Ryan's parents... On the way there we of course had to make a stop at Disneyland! When we finally got to the desert I was greeted with my new favorite BBQ'd chicken thanks to Ryan's mom, and of course another uber fattening dessert of cheesecake! (Don't judge, you only turn 30 once, I would have eaten cake every day if I could!) Sunday the birthday madness continued with another trip to... Bet ya can't guess... DISNEYLAND! Except this time we dragged our good friends Ben and Greggo with us :) Ryan and me ended up staying after they left to head back to the desert, and we literally shut the park down, and I finally got to ride It's a Small World! I was saddened to find out that in recent years they have made the ride more politically correct, but the dork in me was still really excited to finally see it in any form!

So that's it on the birthday madness, I returned home to Utah for the last time on tuesday... Now the packing madness has begun, we just finalized our moving company and set a date, so at the end of this month, I will be an official resident of La La land! I am sure through this process there will be plenty of randomness to share, so until then, enjoy the pictures! ;)

Day after the hangover!

So I am pretty sure I am one of the only people in the state of Utah that didn't wake up with a hangover this morning! As I was out and about today everyone I encountered looked a little glazed over and partially hammered lol I did also notice there were a few less joggers and speed walkers out this morning, home sleeping it off I assume.

I have been enjoying my media ban for the most part, it's kind of nice living in a bubble! However there is a downside to not tuning in to the news or catching up on online gossip... Other people still do, and still feel the need to share... Everything from racy texts released by a porn star, to tattoo models talking about "5 weeks of sex"... Oh my! Gossip mongering has even spilled into the neighborhood, with the locals talking about the trashy 80's style trailer park reject the neighbor is dating. *Gag* I haven't seen her, but the descriptions of her are priceless! Happy to announce the ban on my least favorite media whore is sticking though!

Back to my bubble now :)

It begins today...

I woke up this morning, happy it was St. Paddy's, and vowing that today there would not be another rant towards the "grieving" Feldman.... But then Someone sent me this. The ban on this blatant media whore begins today. (At least I stuck to not ranting.)

So Happy St. Pat's Everyone! Be safe, don't get arrested, and if you happen to see a leprechaun... Beat his ass till he craps gold! :)

Am I a bad person?

In the past few months we have had two "pneumonia" related deaths in Hollywood, and strangely enough, both have been drug related deaths as well. It leads me to agree with all the so-called specialists coming out of the woodwork to offer their opinion on the situation... We coddle celebrities and allow them to overmedicate themselves, we do not stop them, we turn a blind eye and keep their secrets... But then, when the secret comes to the surface, we turn these people into a walking joke. And no one EVER comes forward to say "I enabled this person." Unfortunately the situation inevitably escalates, and the person is certifiable worm food, way beyond the reach of rehabilitation. And then you get the media circus, all the "friends" tearfully coming forward to announce they watched the downward spiral, and did what they could to "help", watching them decline for months... Still never admitting to enabling the person... It's sick and twisted.

Which leads me to the "2 Corey's", it's tragic that a troubled person slipped through the cracks for so long, constantly surrounded by people who not only facilitated the addiction, but made it worse, even using the addiction and issues around it to form a reality series. In all honesty I cannot help feeling bad for Feldman, he did lose a friend, someone I believe he genuinely cared about. But at the same time, if you cared for someone so much, why would you use their death as a platform to become a total media whore, let the focus be on them, not you. The circus that Feldman has created around the untimely passing of Corey Haim at age 38 is an absolute train wreck... I am sorry, but on the day my so called best friend died I would not be running to an impromptu taping of Larry King, I would be inconsolable, not feeling the need to air my "best friend's" dirty laundry to America, all the while chastising the media, the public and society in general for raking my friend over the coals. Hello, you were his best friend, you had to have seen what was happening, yes, you claim you made your life about saving his life, and we have all seen the sensationalized rantings from the show, but lets be honest, how many times a week were you making sure he got to a meeting, or sitting with him in therapy, or maybe calling the cops on his ass? Sometimes saying someone is your friend isn't enough, actions speak louder than words, and getting loaded with someone, or enabling an addict through a blind eye is not friendship.

Stop acting like a douche bag, your friend's passing is not an occasion to insert yourself into the spotlight for false sympathy in hopes of personal gain. I end this with Feldman's letter to the grave, another media whoring way of pulling the spotlight from where it really belongs...

Sn-O Town!

So, I did make it home alive, it was rocky there for a while! ;) I did talk to the hangover reject, he had a passport pinned to his shirt because he apparently suffered some minor brain damage while vacationing in Cabo San Lucas!? WTF, seriously!? He did tell me it was an awesome vacation, stayed out until 5 am every night, err day, err morning... Whatever, you know what I mean! After talking to him and hearing about his booze soaked vacation I am impressed that he is not in a vegetative state in some seedy Mexican hospital! Oh, BTW ladies, he lives and works in Orem, and he's single! Get on that now! I know you all want a piece of that plastic Oscar the Grouch action! ;)

So anyway, back to the getting back to O-Town part... Everything with the initial move to LA LA land went very well, condo cleaned, carpets are getting cleaned this weekend, Sir Jack seems to be adjusting well, we can only hope things go the same for our little Dread Pirate Max, but unfortunately he will have a little rougher trip than Jack did. I am thinking he will need drugs to handle all of this. Again back to O-Town, I get in to the airport last night and it is balls ass cold, but not snowing! Woot for that, right!? Get my bags, they're not totally trashed, another woot there, make it out to passenger pick up just as my mother, who was nice enough to pick me up, but unfortunately still does not believe in cell phones, pulls up to the curb looking for me, right as I get to the door she pulls away, apparently not seeing me... HER DAUGHTER, her ONLY child... A group of Samoan men were nice enough to chase after her for me, but alas, she did not stop, just kept driving, leaving me in the freezing cold for another half hour, where she almost drove by me again, but this time I was prepared and hucked a bag of peanuts at her windshield (A HUGE thank you to South West Airlines for providing me ammo). I will admit, it is nice to be back, despite the fact that I woke up to an f'ing snow storm this morning... Have I mentioned that I hate snow, I know, retarded since I snowboard and ski, but I like snow in the mountains, not 2 feet of it in my driveway!

@iamdez, if you're reading this, the cable is still out, are you shocked!?

Newness!!!

In honor of @iamdez, I have decided to actually blog today, only because he was nice enough to subscribe to me!!! Now it's no secret how lazy I am when it comes to actually posting anything, so this is sure to be a treat! ;) Right now I am sitting at LAX, I was lucky enough to arrive here via the Fly Away out of Van Nuys with a gaggle of baggage handlers, one offered to split a rollie with me when we arrived, I can only assume that is not a cart to wheel my luggage in lol. Anyway, I arrived here early enough to get a good seat for people watching at the end of my gate, and oh there is some eye candy here today (I will try to get pictures if I can), there is a douche that sat down across from me, he is wearing cut off dress pants, flip flops, a disheveled business shirt and he has a passport pinned to his shirt (don't ask why, because I sure as hell don't really want to know), he is rocking two iphones, an ipod and a macbook pro, and he pulled all this shit out of his... Wait for it... I can't make crazy like this up... His bright green plastic Oscar the Grouch back pack! SWEET! And before you ask, he is white, and he does not have an accent, I know this because he asked to borrow my wireless card because he didn't want to pay for the tmobile hotspot. I swear, I meet the best people in airports, not like the new place we moved into. We live above a Rick Ocasek look alike who is about 30 years and 70 pounds past his prime, and he is dating a gem of a woman we fondly refer to as scary crazy crack whore, who came pounding on our door in the middle of the night like the condo was on fire screaming that whatever we were doing in our bedroom caused her windows to rattle... Hmmm, who would have known that Ryan shaving his beard off could have caused such a raucous lol She also went on to rant that she had to listen to us pound around all weekend... All I can say is the cat must have had one hell of a party while we were in Palm Desert over the weekend! ;) Ok, gotta go, I think I am going to ask my hangover reject why he has a passport pinned to his shirt... Livin' on the wild side over here!

Another day... More errands!

So I am pretty sure I gave they guy at the post office a stroke today... Note to self: When mailing a giant, heavy box at the post office, do not give it to the guy who looks like he's days away from retiring! So more errands complete, more things to get the house together, the theme of 2010 is "What else do we need?" I am so looking forward to my mini break and getting away from some of this madness!

On a lighter, shopping free note, today was the most gorgeous day, blue sky for miles, literally made the mountains shine, it's days like this that make me wish I had the time and energy to be a ski bum :)

So...

Another day of shopping done, I think we are both exhausted beyond belief, but everything is coming together nicely... Latest trauma: What do we use for a temporary entertainment center for a giant ass TV that won't break the bank (or the TV)!? On the plus side we're gonna have super comfy sheets to sleep on... Now we just need a mattress! ;)

Mmmmmm....

Ok, so I did a little out of state ordering for Ryan tonight, and happened upon this tasty little gem... Greco New York Pizza in Tarzana, so yummy! Happy to announce that Ryan is fed, watching LOST, and no longer suffering the trauma of home supply shopping! Such a sweetie for getting all that done for us :)

Be sure to go check out Greco if you're in the area! (Follow the link!)
